Shane is a princess who loves her kingdom Asva & vows to return to it one day as she’s been sent to a foreign kingdom as a hostage by her father instead of her elder sister.
Shane is headstrong & definitely not fragile. She tries to make do with her words & demeanor in difficult situations since she’s got no allies or power which makes the story more realistic imo.
Harry is her personal knight. He’s of humble origins & tries to attain a title & territory. It seems like the king keeps him on a short leash & that’s why he’s been instructed to protect her. They’re still in the process of getting acquainted.
The prince of Europe in first line seems interested in her. (?) The one second in line, Fred & Lady Verude are the antagonists.
There are still some questions that remain unanswered but we are still at the beginning that’s why I’m curious to see where the plot is heading.

The fl is a bish honestly, and the author had to make her a damsel in distress as well, when the setup was perfect for her to be able to be badass and defend herself.

I don’t know how you came to the conclusion that she’s a “bish” when she’s just a young girl – (apart from her status as a royal princess) – who’s been sent to a foreign empire as a hostage. She’s trying to keep her guard up all the time & she does not know who to trust cause she’s inexperienced & cannot tell for sure who will harm her. How was she even supposed to fend for herself when she has got no allies & power & was cast aside by her father (& sister) ?
