@MiscMech that’s exactly what he’ll do. Give up his fancy life in capital and support his wife. He’ll join the police station where Marianne is stationed and help her. He’ll also see how his wife was being treated behind his back and yeah it’ll be a tough road for him. Don’t worry she won’t forgive him easily. She won’t give up her job even after they make up.
