adelaide i’m pretty sure it’s the assassin who’s dead. i also think that her fiancé spoke those words as himself, not as the bewitched person he is under anita. his eyes had life and sparkle for a moment, whereas normally his eyes have been completely dull under the brainwashing. i don’t think he’s evil. he’s just brainwashed.
