according to my experience, eating something that is too spicy for me would not result in tounge numb, the worst i have is swollen lips, and my mouth trembling (when eating, of course it subside in few ten minute after the meal), and the worst effect is stomachache, my belly is hot af, i won’t even mention how poop feels like in 8 hour after eating super spicy meal.
but to overcome this, one can constantly eating spicy thing in prefered spice threshold, eat at least once a day, then after a week you will start to think that food without spice is tasteless XD
becareful tho, once you stop eating spice for a few weeks, you will become weak to spice again 😉
