I will say it’s refreshing to read a story and the villain are women, I like the women running to lead as characters. We get enough of male characters doing some fuk ish but see females be just as bad as the males in other stories is nice I hate the mother and her sisters but I like reading women ruining ish I wish it was women running ish with good intentions but progress is still slow. We need more women writers and artists
The story has already shown us more clearly in older chapters, the husbands were handpicked to be henpecked and the mother is the kinda woman who KNOWS where the bodies are buried and what money needs to move where to stand in a position of power without overtly being in power. She’s cold, calculating and cynical from the loss of her OG husband and what sort of poverty she faced after his death. Her nature is understandable thought not entirely forgivable as in her revenge/return to power she weaponized not just her own but her daughter’s beauty to rise up in power and obtain the information and money she would need to be an intimidating force not easily brought low. Part of her hold over her daughters and in turn their husbands is that she NEVER let’s them what lows she dragged them up from. Guilt is powerful.
I’m sorry but why do there husbands take shit from the mother? I’m just saying in this time period women did not have power of men, especially those of higher rank than them. Like her daughters husband is a Marquis or Count I’m pretty sure and she’s just the widow of a Viscount even if she has a lot more money now so why does he act like her lackey?
I’m grateful for the free-to-read manga but when I read something with a really terrible translation my mood just takes a dive and what started as a nice way to take a break becomes a bit stressful. Still, there are some epically bad translations that make me have to shut down the computer and just walk away for a few hours…I’m happy this isn’t one of them.
