Veterans can be treated well but most go unnoticed and neglected. Then again it depends on the country you are from. Ending a war and losing access to dungeon resources vs more fighting and pretending to be heroes. Prolong war is good for no one so those heroes must have had it easy. Dungeons tend to get worst in these novels as it is prolonged.
This is so stupid. If you fight the monsters and close all the gates, you’re basically a hero. A war hero, aka veteran. I ain’t see no veteran be treated like a thug. They’re highly respected, even after they grow old and can’t fight anymore. We hold Remembrance Day every year to respect them. They get all kinds of benefits. I’d assume you’d be treated better than a veteran if you managed to save mankind. You’d still be revered as heros.
