Who’s child it is was left as an open question in the novel with a few hints that it still might be Sovieshu’s. Personally I believe that Rashta’s child is actually from Sovieshu. Because this way all the events are even more painful for him especially “So, that’s my father? Hell no, I’ll pass, I’m off to the Western empire, bye” decision from this very child a couple decades later :3

I hate Rushta because as a woman I think it’s really the most dishonorable thing to aim for a married man and wreck an other woman’s life! Rasta took bad decisions, yes, but she’s uneducated and cute, she wanted to belong after so much pain she had to endure. Sovieshu took advantage of that and didn’t care giving her false hopes, just for personal gratification. He’s not only a bad man, bad husband but also a bad emperor.
I’m so happy Navier has someone who actually cared for her, who wanted to be with her, but preferred her happiness above his.

He is the one that took in Rasta the slave in he is the worst he is also the one who left Navier. He is the one who made her feel like nothing. HE is the one who treated both Navier and Rasta badly. Not Rasta she gets so much hate but none talks about how much she has suffered. She not a good person but Sivieshu should get more hate but he gets motly a pass with the fans, and it is insulting it proves that we blame women for things that they should not be blamed for.
