yes, i understand, but even if the harem was established by the emperor or not, he’s still sleeping with them and taking advantage of their feelings knowing full well how they wish to become his woman. Aris is a total bitch, obviously, but maybe she wouldn’t be so resentful and cruel if the emperor didn’t sleep with them then leave so cold-heartedly. In short, what I am saying is that he is feeding into their desires and making them stronger by giving them false hope. I just find it scummy. Sometimes I feel like authors just create obnoxiously evil characters like an opposing female rival, just to hide what a pice of shit the ML is. In comparison they seem like the heroes, but is the obnoxious villain wasn’t there, they would be the next best thing to a w. Like this dude is a straight up narcissist but we’re supposed to like him because he’s going to fall for the FL but still be awful to everyone else.
