It’s not like poeple in Iran have a choice in choosing their religion. Everything is decided by government and their parents like from a young age you get brainwashed to believe in that specific religion, if not they kill you. 😒

just that when you are born, automatically you are Muslim, it may sound unpleasant for some people but I don’t believe in any sh*t except humanity.
And this manhwa really hit different. I was bored and randomly scrolling then I saw this but it captivated me.
thing is, like… it’s not really culture-wide. a lot of it’s recent and enforced by political interest groups, many of whom were known despots placed in power by the US or Russia during the cold war. most of the middle eastern oppressive shit was considered fringe extremism prior to cold war interventions, especially in Iran. it’s flat-out wrong to say that the massive curbing of women’s legal rights is a long-standing cultural cornerstone that must never be criticized. if a woman wants to observe certain actions in accordance with her own religion, that’s between her and G*d. the moment government intervenes, it’s no longer a religious choice, and is therefore worthless as a measure of devotion. i’m all for not judging eastern politics by western standards, but it’s important that we don’t just hand-wave literal deliberate extremism as just “oh that’s how the middle east does things”. it’s NOT how the middle east does things. it’s how the whackjobs put in power by the world’s most dangerous dick-measuring contest do things, and everyone else was forced to go along with it at gunpoint. go ahead, look up iranian college girl fashion in the 60s, before the revolution. Since this new country is more related to middle-eastern customs, I want to clarify that woman CAN swim and are free to do so. However, only if they are given full privacy without any men around.
If there are men around then a woman can still go near the water to cool herself down but isn’t allowed to expose herself too much, especially if there are men around her who she is not blood-related to.
This custom is a part of middle-eastern (like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc) culture and religion so please be respectful.
