im confused. So….if she said she can hear the voices of animals, how would that sacrifice the life of other animals? It’s not as if she can only hear their voices when they’re hurt. And plus, if she told him, she wouldn’t have to live as a prisoner. Unless he’d kill the animals if she said yes or something, because he’s an asshole y’know.

If she said yes, the Emperor would’ve injured another animal and made Elise say what that injured animal told her for further confirmation that she could talk to animals. After confirming this, the Emperor would abuse Elise’s abilities for his own selfish gains. For example, the Emperor would raise an “army” of animals with Elise’s powers.
