what i hate about story like this is why she only got to read the book when her mother died. LIKE THAT WAS FVCKING TOO LATE! what was the reason why it only appeared at that time? this author.. -_-

Once again, a story wants to have the persecution and ~mystique~ of the Rroma without giving the Mc any of their features and, of course, relying on stereotypes and slurs.
The FL’s mother wasn’t exactly a noble and it’s likely that she didn’t go through the right amount of education to realise what she was getting into. There was also the overly excessive abuse she suffered from not just Malone but also his wife.
The FL’s mother is only partially responsible for everything that happened to them however she suffered worse then her daughter and until the very end regretted everything she had done. She practically begged for forgiveness. The FL’s mother was simply misguided just like the FL; she was by no means the root of all their suffering.
It was all Malone and his wife
That’s because she’s a gipsy who is lower than a commoner. Aside from not having confidence of a noble she doesn’t have any background that can be a good support for her. She doesn’t have a family. Even if she didnt remarry, the other relatives of the duke would probably attack her and the child’s legitimacy. She just grabbed the wrong rope— it was Malone who you should hate. The fml was her niece, the only daughter of his brother yet he did what he did.
The fml’s suffered. She lost her husband and was forced to remarry for the sake of her child. And the moment she did, she was abused. To get away from all the beatings, she gave up tje inheritance and even denied her child’s bloodline. Which she regretted her whole life. She never had a chance to mourn for his beloved because she needs to strive for her child to survive 🙁
