Normally I’d question that leap in logic, but it’s probably a bit hard to be self-confident 20 seconds after being treated like leftovers to your only friend that is also the reason you’re being bullied. Tbh, Kira, the commoner, has it much better than Emily from the start. Kira is a scholarship commoner who is guaranteed her schooling as long as she sticks with it. Emily has less visibility, no guarantee of tuition, and is the one actually being bullied.
