The premise of the story is interesting, like I immediately got curious on how their relationship will progress since it’s been established early in the story that the ML is interested in the FL, but the execution of how it happen is utterly slow and boring. The author wants to show how capable the FL is, but the story just doesn’t give enough satisfaction to pique the reader’s interest. I skipped a lot of pages of this.

I’m not even gonna complain too much about ML, cuz it’s really not the worst part. He’s not even thaaat bad, just the typical “I’m a cold duke that have no interest in women but oh wait, suddenly my wife FL seems interesting so now I’m gonna simp for her” 🤷♀️

What made me drop is that this is incredibly boring. I was yawning, literally. The writing style is quite poor (and it’s not the TL, the dialogues are too simple and not engaging), the plot is the same cliche but written in a very simplistic way. Oh, and art doesn’t compensate for this.

Okay, ML aside. It’s extremely boring and childish. The author of this comic doesn’t now how to choose colors in his art and it hurts my eyes. Like everything is grayish and then, poof ML with hair as red as ketchup. They know how to draw and where to put shadows but my eyes will never recover.
Why it’s boring and childish – mainly because FL is boring and childish. And every character. It’s like I was reading a book for a 8 year old child. Only ‘mature’ thing was when ML wanted to have sex and FL didn’t know what sex is :)))

Well, I only made it to ch 9 but this isn’t for me, I never say this but the fl seems…. weak. I don’t want to read about someone that puts up with being maneuvered around and used to further her husbands ends when she bargained for different terms and had those terms ignored. It’d be different if he’d been honest about their contract and let her know what she’d signed up for.

This one is getting a bad reputation that is not deserved purely because people only read a very short way into it and then stop, to be honest. The complaints about the ml being abusive or neglectful or whatever are pure nonsense, based entirely around a very brief early set up for the misunderstanding between the main couple which gets addressed before it hits chapter 20 (fl thinks she’s being served subpar food out of mockery, when in reality the food is more like hospital food- bland, but healthy- in order to help her regain her health more quickly as she was severely malnourished by her family before her marriage.) and the ml’s poor communication skills are called out by the fl. The romance here is kind of reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice, if I’m honest.
The main couple here are both imperfect people who are more interested in goals other than romance and start out more as business partners than a romantic couple, but they learn to respect each other and both improve as people as the story and their relationship progresses. It’s not the glorified abuse story others are making it out to be by any stretch of the imagination, and it’s worth a shot if you like a slowburn romance.

The ml reminds of that classmate who has crush on you but bullies you to get your attention and thinks the more you fight the more you are falling in love because he thinks girls like bad boys but in reality you just hate him, he is annoying, unattractive, unfunny. He is like a cramp during your periods, like a pop up ad on a website. And you can’t wait to never see him after you graduate.

Dropped this due to ML, him intentionally making her live under subpar conditions made me drop so fast. Even she had to say “i worked like a modern day work is life salary woman in my previous house without pay but at least had decent meals and basic needs taken care of and not live like a maid eating cold tasteless food” like not even MCs of other political marriage stories live like that
