I’m still not sure about why she’s adamant of having him around🤔 for one he’s no longer necessary to keep her alive now that she’s completed the Emperor’s task. Plus having the power as head of research team will give her more say both at home and in a social setting (later when magic is de-demonised) but leaving the team will mean she’ll have to go back and deal with the dumbass brother… The only thing left to do about him is to make sure he doesn’t lose control and go on a rampage and throw all their effort down the drain. If he isn’t willing to stay let him go. It’d be easier to hand over a translated book of spells to him once the work is done than catering to this punk. Or you could as well brand him a traitor, or a spy of the temple once he rampages🙂 that’d take care of two troublesome existences for the emperor~
