It was like this in real life, though. Medieval women who knew “too much” about herbs risked getting accused of witchcraft. Although you could accuse anyone, really. Torture someone long enough, and you soon get the “evidence” you need. It was a handy way of getting rid of someone you didn’t like, and maybe get their house, too. This guy is doing just that. And the people? Weathervanes. They wouldn’t want to be caught sheltering a witch.

Bystanders were all like, “She made medicine and helped us” but then the guy who grabbed her off the street says, “Actually she makes poison, also she’s a witch” And THOSE SAME PEOPLE are all, “Okay. Sounds legit. I guess she’s a witch who makes and sells poison”…
