I think she is just very brainwashed and seeking her father approval and feels as if she was beneath her dead brother. It is annoying that she just wants that power but I think she just really wants to feel approved by her father and given the same chance to be the successor. I was thinking the same thing. I’ve been giving her the benefit of the doubt since I don’t even think she knows she died, just that she went back in time. Plus she is going to have to break 20/30 years worth of habits if she never realised her lover was always manipulating her/pulling the strings.
I think too many people are used to FL that know they died and forget the whole ‘going back in time’ thing is very unlikely to be a trope or even heard of in her universe so all the stupid things she does are likely things at least some of us would do.
