Becoming the Count seems to have become an obsession for her. From what I can see even though it went wrong but she was satisfied and happy with the outcome. The count obviously favours the brother and even when the boy died he didn’t accept her as his heir choosing his student instead.. so it’d have felt hella satisfying to her to get the title and rub it in the face of all the naysayers.
I think she got lulled into complacence because of her engagement to the Duke heir. From my point of view it was the most useless engagement ever for her. Not only did she gain nothing so far from the engagement, it also put the Count on guard against her. She should’ve not accepted it and dealt with a known enemy using previously tested method if her only aim was to be the Count.
To everyone else, she’s a 13 year old girl in the time period where girls are used for marriage alliances and nothing more. No one will support her in her goals, no one who will support her will do so without an ulterior motive so she has to fight against all that plus work harder then her brother. Before she went back in time, she was manipulated since she was 10 years old and she figured it out as soon as she was told one piece of information, give her a break, she’s working with crumbs

I mean, we don’t know step by step what she did for 3 years, but it isn’t exactly easy to become the successor! What was she supposed to do besides actually killing Ellua? Especially with how prejudiced the Count seems against her.
I think I got way too used to most female leads becoming smarter after being reincarnated?. Why are you waiting for another man to fix your problems for you?! That’s what got you killed last time I checked. And why do you still want to be the count anyway? To say it went horribly wrong the first time would be an understatement. You couldn’t accomplish anything on your own and just now realized that you were being manipulated. That pasta name sounding creep is probably enjoying his new title of count in the original timeline while your body is buried somewhere remote. That alone should make you want find a way to stand out and become a serious candidate for the count title cause your brother clearly doesn’t take it as seriously. At the very least stay as far away from that blonde creep as possible. Also of all the men you could be chosen to rely on to help you become the new count, why the neck would you chose the man you killed in last life??! You really expect me to believe that he doesn’t harbor any bad feelings about that. You personally evicted his soul from his body. He has every right to be a bit arrogant, the fact that he’s even offering to help you is surprising and sus but whatever. You should’ve been doing something in those three years. That’s a decent amount of time to sneak into the study of manipulate some people. I’ve seen plenty other leads do more with less. I hope she gets smarter.
I’m getting tired of her trying to become head of the family. It doesn’t make any sense, particularly because it went horribly wrong in her past life. And everyone single person around her (except her little brother) is absolute trash, so she should just save a lot of money and bounce ?
I usually try to defend the characters, but this time I gotta acknowledge that she’s making so stupid choices. Like, she realized that she’s never made any decisions on her own in her past life to become the successor. She was just being led a long by Storoni. Now she wants to do the same thing this time and have someone else do all the work while she just waits for the results. And why does she even want to become successor in the first place? Kalmia should take a hint and leave. There’s clearly no place for her at the Count residence and nobody’s afraid to show it. She’s better off simply leaving and finding somewhere else to live.

I agree with him. When she said “You didn’t even keep your promise” my reaction was the same as his. Also, what he’s saying makes total sense. I understand that her father seems to dislike her, but she didn’t do much to make herself stand out as the successor, nor did she make any preparations for the same. In fact, in all this time, her only achievement was to figure out that everything she thought she had done in her past life was a lie and she was just being controlled by a sus dude and she, in fact never had to do anything herself……….. really, what did she do for the past 3 years?
