First off, even if the Duke is busy with war matters, shouldn’t he try to make some time to figure out the situation of his switching fiancé’s since he comes home every night anyway? I’m sure whatever it is, it isn’t so pressing that he can’t spare a few extra hours to settle his situation at home, even if the entire marriage is a shit show! And the last part where the maid ran into her, apologized and the fl told her not apologise because she fell, was I don’t know, stupid Nad sounds hypocritical! The maid should apologise, I mean she was the one that bumped into the fl but that’s not my point. The point is she shouldn’t have said, the maid shouldn’t apologize instead she should have said she doesn’t have to apologize cus she fell and it wasn’t on purpose!
