Leaving his wife and daughter (Lyrica and her mother) to pay it off. While he was being a cheating scum and fathering another daughter Lyrica’s age. He left Lyrica and her mother in debt to run away with the other woman and raise a “perfect family ” far away.
Lyrica goes to meet him and he’s sitting scared while denying her existence at the same time coddling his other daughter.
In the last life Lyrica’s mother burned that family in a fit of rage.
This time they’re simply not worth her time and only wishes to love her daughter and live with her together.
After a bit of drama ( Lyrica was really upset, ever since she was in the slum she had this fantasy that everything will be OK once her father returns. He’ll bring money to take them out of his debt, her mother will stop drinking and might start loving her and she too can stop working to earn the bread)
Her mother decided that it’ll be punishment enough if the debtors found out where he lives. The debt was so huge plus the interest that it’ll take literal generations to pay it off. And it was also revealed that all of Lyrica’s relations to that man have been officially removed because she’s now adopted by Takkar.
She’s a Takkar now and her only father is Altheos. That’s a really emotional scene. Altheos has already been the father to Lyrica that she never had. He cares for her, despite what the magician did to him he still teaches Lyrica magic and helps her in any way he can. There are many little things and big things.
She cries to him and calls him father.
He also proposes another contract to Lyrica.
Since her mother’s contract will expire in a few years and she probably will leave with Lyrica. Of her being a princess and his daughter for a lifetime.
I also was thinking the same before. His mother could have her with a dragon, even some distant relative of current emperor, i wouldt even by much suprised if he is her biological father. There was a storry “i become mother of murderers child” or something like that, there was back story where duke/emperor cant remember exact position had some curse that makes him unable to see anything and he was in kind of berserk mode. She on the other hand was beautifull but have awfull father who despised her and her mother, mother died because he killed her, she was beautifull and he ploted that he sell her as wife to some rich fat ugly baron or marquis, to prevent it she run away to the city to get pregnent with some guy, she helped him in the alley and they did it. After some time she reveled that she is pregnent, her father closed her in small room and threated her like a slave maid, she gave birth to son. After some time when he was like 3-4 she wanted to run away so she present herself as a wife candidate to duke who had awfull opinion, no women wanted him because they was scared of his course. Anyway its like around 70 chapters story and truth is reveled around 50. He had his dubts all the time (duke) she was kinda scared of him thats why she had hard time to tell him the truth. Overal asume that Emperor in this story, dragon (we dont know what does this mean that he is a dragon. There was no indication that he can change into dragon,it may be a title or it may be that they are descendants of some dragon which lack transformation power) also had this kind of episode where he get atacked by mages or something and slept with her but dont recall it. Or it may be that he knows that she is his daughter but dont want to reveal it for some reasons. Hard to say, everything is posible. ..
