Omg this was such a cute chapter. All this time I thought that the emperor was Atil’s father’s brother. Is he really a dragon? I’m also glad that this story paid attention to the conversation between the Emperor and Atil! Bcs Atil is also a child! In some stories, other siblings’ relationships with parental figures are ignored and that’s sad. And in this story it was so lovely!
Tbf, iirc the mom is focusing on helping the emperor with whatever (contract relationship? she wanted to move out with Lily and leave somewhere later right?) so ig she may be currently giving him more attention because she has a role of being “a good queen”. I don’t recall but I don’t think it was supposed to be a permanent thing?
Anyways I do agree that would’ve loved to see the mom put in more effort considering most of the time it’s just Lily giving in, conceding, accepting, nurturing. In this sense I would love to see more growth from Lily’s end in terms of self-love, since rn she’s still functioning for her mom as a vehicle to make her mom grow more. Hoping the mom would interact with her more since she noticed that they are lacking in communication. She already came to terms that what she thinks is best may not be what Lily thinks is best, now is the time to explore what it really means to be a mother figure in your child’s life
I wanted her to have a better redemption arc, since in the past, it suggestively shows us that Lily was abused and used by her mother. Her mother pastes over that (after coming back in time) and is only spending her days with the emperor, instead of trying to amend their relationship cuz Lily was still scared of her mother in the other past chapters.
I don’t want to sound bad (Lily you know I love you with all my heart and would gladly adopt you), but I was hoping Lily would be depressed/sad longer than one chapter so that the mom would put more effort into rebuilding their relationship, feel remorse and finally make a decent apology. From what I’ve seen so far, the mother spends more time with the emperor than with her own daughter. Remember when she couldn’t see her for a few days because she was having a good time with the emperor in bed? Who does that? Sure, she’s trying to be better, but providing luxury for your daughter and not yelling at her doesn’t mean you’re a good mother and everything is ok.
