Hm, I get that the author wanted the female lead to “save” the duke and make him indebted to her so that he would help her with divorcing and ruining her evil husband. But constructing this weird event for this to happen was not a good idea.
A monster that nearly nobody has seen and has now vanished into thin air without leaving so much as footprints, blood stains or fur hair?
There’s a hurt man who will be a witness when he’s conscious again, so even if the duke is temporarily arrested, he will be freed soon enough anyways.
And the female lead just pretends to have been a witness, even though she cannot describe this monster, and nobody even asks what the monster looked like or whatever? Shouldn’t everybody be super agitated because of such an attack and should try to find out as much as possible so that it won’t happen again (like compared to a deadly terrorist attack)?
