this manhwa has its faults at times but… i really appreciate the deeper insight on how shirley feels as a mother. it makes total sense and makes her such a real character to feel for. you also get to understand WHY she’s so closed-off to the viscount and rigid. while it can feel like shirley is a bit too much/rude/hard to please/etc at times, i really cannot find it in me to hate her for acting like that. she’s been through a LOT of shit, and even if a handsome, rich, powerful man promises to get you out of a hard situation, who’s to say it won’t end up terribly like the first time? i hope we get to see some genuine heart-to-heart moments between shirley and the viscount and not just silly little banters so that she can really open herself up and feel comfortable.
I agree. And of the viscount changed his mind and becomes a bad person, who is going to save her? She sees how possessing power (and maintaining it) will do to people, the fact is the baron was more tolerable and manageable when they both were poor and struggling.
