I wonder if the Duke is Liana’s biological father?
He and her mother were friends during their school days, I remember someone commenting that her mother “loved Liana’s father very much” without mentioning the word husband and now this parallel with Liana remembering her mother’s love and now having her father’s love. Could her mother’s “husband” be just a facade or just a faithful servant helping her in a plan? Considering that both were powerful families, I imagine them hiding a child from both bloodlines in order to avoid the emperor’s wrath.
Yeah i also mentioned this bellow you comment. Youngest son is 2 years older than she is. Her mother died during childbirth or close to it. Duke was in long grieviance, he knows Liliana mother from childhood and i asume like in most mangas of this type they either fought together in war or some monster subjugations. And like You said, she could use some servant or knight to apear as her husband and Liana father to stop badmouthing her. Besides someone would start to look who is real father. Next in many mangas there was stated that it is prohibited to marry betwen children of dukedoms heads. So Liana would be child unwanted by royal family cause she would be basicly conection betwen those 2 familis making it geting closer and in some point making it one dukedom, and in fact making it into separate country with realy strong military and financial power. Only sad thing is that she dosnt have his eyes. But i wouldnt be suprised if later would be reveled that she have some birth mark same as duke. Anyway title and this whole confusion makes it realy suspicious. Besides like i writed bellow, title isnt “my adopted father….” or “my new father….” but “my father…” . I would asume author wouldnt titled it “my biological father…” because it would spoil story.

Considering mother of youngest son died during childbirth and he is 2 years older it would be better to take her in as illegitimate child. It is not “My adopted father is the enemy of my past life? ” or “my new father is my enemy of the past life? ” It is “My father is the enemy of my past life? ” Like it would be hinting that she is in fact his daughter. Besides if i recal she only remembers his mother, not his biological father which is kinda weird.
