This is my head canon guessing this was her second time turning back time: first life she had incredible magic power and ML was her teacher; she turned back time in hopes her mum had a better life with her help but wasn’t able to. This life her magic was greatly diminished as consequence of turning back time so she asked for her past teacher’s help to turn back time once more, and was born again as their daughter. The amount of her magic thing may vary but is what I think.
