I hate how people will do anything but forgive this guy. Like they have both been through alot in their lives, and comparing their hurt to find out whos in the right is the wrong way to go about this. Instead of comparing thier pain, they should work to rectify their friendship and forgive eachother. tbh this is a very realistic relationship, but you guys have been codled by romance manwha that have no real struggle. yes this is toxic, but just because its toxic does not mean they cant restart.
Its not about being coddled, for one I read way to many fked manhwas tbh. And your right toxic doesn’t mean they can’t restart but THEY should not because of what he did. This has nothing to do with his pain. I get it he went through a hell no one deserved, but the only reason he tortured Annette so fking much is because of his own dillusion. NOT because of his trauma, he even said the only thing that kept him going was this fantasy of Annette, this perfect saint that would be there for him waiting, and when she wasn’t up to that par and- ya know, a HUMAN BEING! He became bitter and saw her the same as every noble. So from then onwards she what- deserved to be tortured, tormented, ridiculed, locked in a cage like a bird with no wings until she literally had no more will to live? Yeah no. Now if he regretted it and actually APOLOGIZEDDDD then I would have a different opinion of him. But its the fact that he continues to show no change in his controlling behavior towards her and is literally still not listening to her that I cannot forgive him. They should not start over because she deserves better than that. And I’m sorry if I came heated lol

Actually it’s strange that the psychology of someone who grew up in such an environment is already normal. Guys we are talking about being subjected to inhumane treatment. He’s not right, but he’s not normal either. Both fl and ml suffered a lot.
This is toxic. He cant let her go even though the history showed they arent good for each other and havent processed their traumas enough to be able to create a healthy relationship. She might have grown a bit but i am not sure he made any kind of work on himself, and honestly i dont think right now in the middle of the war he would be even able to. Its just sad that he dont see it and revert to his old ways of “if i keep her locked she will be safe”.
I think they should spend more time apart before they try again but alas….
