I know I’m going to get a lot of hate for this, but just hear me out. I completely understand and feel terrible for the Female Lead—I truly do. She didn’t deserve the harsh treatment she endured, and I agree that the Male Lead should not have been so cruel to her. But despite everything, I just can’t bring myself to hate him.
He has been through unimaginable suffering—abuse, betrayal, war, death, trauma. How many of us can even begin to fathom a life like that? Can we really blame him for struggling to understand his wife when he has never known love himself? Life never gave him that chance. The only thing he clung to was her, his one hope. But when he saw her ignorance of the world’s harsh realities, it enraged him. Deep down, he knew it wasn’t her fault—it was her father who inflicted all those despicable things. And yet, this is how human emotions work. People process pain in flawed ways.
His hatred toward her wasn’t truly about her—it was misplaced anger, a desperate reaction to years of suffering. Meanwhile, the FL was born into privilege, shielded from hardship until now. Her only way to escape her misery was through death.
How many of us could endure such lives and still remain completely sane and understanding? Let’s try to see these characters as real, flawed humans instead of just heroes and villains. And if they do somehow end up falling in love, let’s try to be happy for them and for their healing.

That’s one of bad impacts from war. Not anyone can heal their soul & mind. And as soldier, they trained to not show & express their own feeling.

As a manhwa and novel reader i like the novel more in this scene. I like how he was hurt and mistaken the nurse with fl and when he realizes she isn’t fl. The description was so smooth and makes me cry
