I don’t get the hate Heiner gets tbh. I honestly respect him and his decision to let annete go despite how much he wanted her. The fact that their relationship is broken beyond repair is why i think that maybe they have to truly destroy their connection to start over again. I don’t want either of them to die because what’s the point of all this buildup. Im kinda excited to see these two make up and have a happy ever after.

this is such a sad story i read the whole novel. I hate him but i pitty at the same time. i wish they could have meet better way. they both don’t deserve this much pain.

We have never seen any positive traits displayed by him; he has done nothing but torture her for years, and you hope she’ll just fall back into that delusion that he will one day care for her again?
She is obviously not mentally sound; she has a major guilt complex driving her to do this for people who do not see her worth as a person and were happy to witness her downfall for no fault of her own.
Honestly, I wish she would have the chance to shoot him to give us an actual, justified conclusion to the story…
