In the novel yeah every predicted it they meet during the war shit happens Yada Yada but the end is open ended to readers interpretation since it’s not exactly a happy ending, they’re both broken people and decide not to be together
Yes I can see a path this can go she will go end up beening his nurses and rekindle this shit and hurt filled relationship and the writer will declare “happy ending” a these 2 people just spend there time hurting each other you know you can love more then one person in your life like funking star trek has pointed this out for god sake we live (if we’re lucky or unlucky dependent on the circumstance) a long time and people split up and fine new people there are no soulmates you don’t need to stick with your first choice you free to leave and have a better life
@Goaties yup…she is broken for sure. But I think she knows, and what she’s trying to do now, like “choosing the best path she can think of”, is the best shot she has at a “normal” life. It’s because of her way-to-kind and considerate nature. The fact that she really is, above all else, a good human being, you don’t see that too often. Frankly, she shouldn’t be :))) but I really enjoy this manhwa, the story is enticing

Annette demonstrates just how broken she is that even now she blames herself and tries to make up for someone else’s crimes.
Man, I hate this story; just keeps showing how it no longer matters that she’s escaped Heiner, because she can’t recover from what he did…
