He is different from all other trash leads who have no reason to be trash as the things he endured had made a big impact on him he thought that when she got to know about the world she will realize how harsh everything is the camp life and all but maybe she didn’t she probably didn’t know suffering and also his desire to live is connected to her, music and all but the thing he did being harsh on her is somewhat I have seen in real he hated her father he lost his friends and everyone he go through worst shit so it not strange to thought that the other sufferings are not that harsh the treatment and all so he didn’t understand his treatment towards her maybe he, wanted her to understand him the world but she was naive and I think that lead to those actions as not every person who have suffered this hard is on right mind…. But still did world though but yeah when you expect something and it doesn’t go that, way you become irritable and all I can’t hate him though he and Theodore different anstasia suffered he knew but was still jerk but in this he knew that it is real issue of her killing herself so he became cautious of his, action

For me as someone who already read novel. Heiner be harsh but he not scum like other male lead in similar plot. if you look carefully he tricked her, talk harsh to her and ignore her but except for divorce he didn’t prohibit her to do anythings.
but she doesn’t anythings much and got hurt because people hate her father so much. for me she’s the one who in top privilege and Heiner the one who on the bottom pit (especially he in the bottom cause by her father), i can understand his harsh.
