Vengeance tends to get out of control with multiple people unconnected to the opposing parties getting hurt. Most manhwa describe the other side as completely evil but life is not that simple. Why do manhwa always push forgiveness, like someone could try to kill the mc, kidnapped them, plot to frame them, ruin the mc reputation, ruin their lives, try to kill their kids, burn the Mc house down. Poison them, convince mc that the love lead doesn’t love and knows about and in on all the schemes. And the Mc just supposed to forgive them to show what? That the Mc is better than the villains what does forgiveness have to do with them doing all that stuff absolutely nothing. Making a Mc forgive abuse and other horrible stuff to show is they are good throughout is bad writing cause those things are unforgivable how do you forgive someone who plotted to kill you or anything I listen you can’t forgive that. Like villains only cry forgiveness when they’re caught. I’d rather see a villain be true to themselves and be like yeah I’d do it again given the chance. And I’d love to see a mc with a God forgives I don’t pov . But no the push the forgive the abusers trope. And I’m starting to think they do this to teach younger readers that they should always forgive their abuser. Manhwa will gaslight the hell out of the Mc and reader all to push a we must forgive narrative.
