I understand that life is hard for the second prince but he isn’t his mother (the nasty second empress) and he doesn’t have to act like her either. Awful things happen to everyone and while you may be at a low point and find yourself in a hard place, I really don’t think turning into an awful person is an excuse or a reasonable solution. Continuing the negativity will only give you negative karma back. There are always consequences to your actions. You may think you’re getting away with something because you haven’t been caught/punished by life yet, but it’ll come to you when you least expect it. There’s a way to dig yourself out of that dark hole without turning into someone who does awful things. It’s just one of the harder routes in life. The easiest thing to do is to become a bad person.
I don’t think the emperor is to blame for any of this, it’s the second empress’ fault. She had sex with him when he was drunk. So she literally raped him. Can you blame him for not wanting the child that reminded him of that. What a horrible woman
Honestly the second prince could have been a better person if only they show him affection and if the second empress raised him well and teach him to be a nice person, he wouldn’t be like that.
Yes, 2nd prince has a sad history but doesn’t give him a right to do those bad things, him having a nasty attitude is his choice, he could do something to be a better person without coveting things that isn’t his in the first place. His past can’t justify his wrongdoings after all. And it’s always those who doesn’t have the rights who wants everything
As much as the 2nd prince is the antagonist of the story, he just wants affection but growing up without love made him the villain. Such cruel world. A child should never be involve in adult fights. But as a grown up it is indeed our choice to stay as a villain or change.
