I don’t hate Anna at all, she’s a well-meaning but perhaps misguided character. I think she needed nerves of steel to deal with the Duke in person, and she was a nervous mess after she was unable to create a treatment for Lucia. Probably thought her head would fly off if she said that she could not. Fear makes you stupid, more often than not.
