   its been a year since my last comment and ive read the rest of the chapters in 2024, and what do i have to say now? this story sucks. FL is indecisive and stupid, she acts like she wants to finally think for herself yet ends up allowing ML to control her despite knowing he makes her suffer. ML is a fucking sociopath, dude, he claims he’s protecting her but we all know that’s bullshit. He belittles her, hoping she’ll suffer to the point she’ll finally run into his arms with nowhere else to go. He’s not a good person.
   And the plot, as for politics and a main goal, is nonexistent. Barely anything interesting happens.

   i honestly don’t remember if i wrote a review for this or not because apparently my comment stating my opinion on this has disappeared…if i even wrote one.
   So, despite the future r@pe scenes that will occur, I decided to give this a shot out of boredom. And so, I read to chapter 12.
   The plot is confusing for me personally. I don’t know if I’m dumb or if it’s hard to understand in general. Not only that, the FL is undoubtedly naïve and weak-willed (some would say even a little dumb), though she defends herself against the male lead, the satisfaction never usually lasts once you realize she’s in love with him.
   And the ML’s bullshit excuse for his actions is that he wants to protect her from his mother, who is supposedly this mastermind political genius? Either way, it doesn’t make sense because he’s the only heir, he can just inherit the title and get rid of her easily. He’s just an asshole who doesn’t listen to what the FL says and completely ignores her boundaries and it makes me ANGRY. I’m only reading this to see how you guys react to the SA scene, so I’ll be here until then.

   I don’t understand the ml. He’s like the ml in ” the mistress runs away” or something like that kind of manhwa. Being nice to FL because they’re aiming for something like “lust”. Ml is stupid ass, it’s better if he break the engagement as soon as possible. But as I’ve read the comments below, something like r@pe, sexual assault and Stockholm syndrome – geezz just what kind of man the ml is?..not just a trash but a mountain of garbage.?. but I’ma sure there is already a redemption prepared for him..new year.. new trash ml?

    Yeap…I have to give my thoughts in this. I’m reading the novel, it picked my interest, and so far is all about the fight between the mother and son for the family power, and the struggle of Emilia to be free from him. She kind of fell in love at the first site with him, and has this hate and love feelings for him, but still wants to break the engagement. Is not that she is stupid or naive, I would say, she is innocent, the story is told in a time when women only know enough, she doesn’t even know what a brothel was or the implications of being a mistress, she knows that is something bad, but not the whole concept.

    Regarding the subject that really is concerning, in the novel there is a tag of r&pe. So, unfortunately, it won’t be pleasant to read, not the manhua or the book.

    Also, Hadius( the Ml) gives me the same vibes of Mathias from Cry, even better if you beg( not that strong, and I couldn’t finish that novel) I fear that he will do anything including force marriage ( another tag) to get her on his side by threating her with her family safety.

    There might be the case of stockman’s syndrome from her side, being her the victim of s&xual @buse, so, is not recommended for all readers.

    The manhua writer might change something but so far, everything is happening like in the novel.

    Yeah I read @Spring and Summer’s comment and googled the spoilers out of curiosity and they’re right. There are very uncomfortable scenes of $exu@l @$$ault between the MC and ML, and from what I know, one happened in the carriage and actual penetration happened sometime later.
    Both of them will probably be triggering from some readers, especially since the FL (from what the reviews said) didn’t enjoy it, so be prepared when you go into this manhwa. And I don’t think the novel approached those matters as an act to raise awareness, because apparently the author romanticized it and victim-blamed her for it.
    I learned some more spoilers while writing this, and oh boy, there are even MORE SA scenes so please be cautioned if you’re sensitive to these topics.
    I believe this is angst as well, so they may be other darker themes. Personally I won’t read it, but if you wanna read it don’t feel embarrassed lol it’s okay to like angst, as long as you don’t glorify some of those actions.

    Eh I don’t know if I’ll continue this story. The art is really nice and I liked it so far (8 chapters). But I searched some spoilers and this will be one of those stories that romanticize r**e and stockholm syndrome. No thank you.
