He’s the heir, so whether or not he fights, he’s going to inherit the title anyways. Unless his mother’s intentions are to monopolize him, then I somewhat understand. Not only that, I don’t get the mothers intentions either. She married the Duke, what else does she need? Its evident she has power despite being just a wife and her son is the heir, so what is she possibly planning that is so diabolical? Yeah I don’t like the FL but its not her fault, the author made her dumb and in love. Still don’t get why the sole heir to the dukedom is fighting with his own mother? Her and her allies cant keep his title away from him and shouldn’t he have made allies at school with the other prominent boys of high society that are about to be in powerful positions like him?
