I think this silver head man has a liking to her. But she fell in love with her husband Jade. The flaw in her logic is shes only thinking and projecting her own point of view. Shes not thinking of how the toungling will even survive once it goes back into the wild. All that shes thinking right now is it soothes her motherly side if the mother “sacrifices”. Shes focused on the mother getting the immediate bad end of the stick without even thinking how that will effect the youngling.
It’s not a flaw. It’s just different standpoint. Mother will suffer without a child and child will suffer without a mother. So regardless of who you choose, pain will follow. The only way to avoid either of them suffering is saving both.
