Not the light dragon, the other dragon that was destined to die. The light dragon stole that dragon’s “fate” or chance at death. “Sorceresses” or “magic” is born out of extreme desperation, more common for women in a patriarchal society as the sorceress said a few chapters ago. The dragon who had his chance at death stolen by the light dragon experienced despair because he could not die with his lover, so he used sorcery to grant the wish of two young girls, offering up his heart as the ultimate price. He granted Eris’ wish and he died as a result of the magic. That is why the female lead was able to inhabit Eris’ body. We don’t know exactly why her soul in particular was chosen. For all we know it could have been a coincidence. I do believe the sorceress told Eris that for her to go back, she’ll need a dragon’s heart a few chapters ago.
