The duchess may seem like a easier target as well since she doesn’t have much power, in the eyes of those unbeknownst to the situation, so killing her serves as to hurt the duke who chose the duchess while also eliminate the person who got her into a situation of being killed in her eyes. Tho, really, lurica has herself to blame since she willing took risks so these are the her consequences.
I can’t understand Lurica/Lyrica whatever, she knows she’s been played and treated like trash so why is that the Duchess’s fault? As the closest confidant to garbage husband, she knows almost all of Brienne’s suffering, having even played a major role in it, yet she still decides Brienne is the one she should kill and not “the duke”, like ?????
