@Senrin exactly. I get why her step family and servents says she’s ugly since they have a kink for mortifying her. But I don’t see why anyone else who doesn’t harbor petty hatred towards her would say so. She genuinely does not look ugly even with freckles or yellow hair. It’s either the artist did a poor job in conveying her unsightly features or the ML views fear itself as ugly.
