if anyone wondering how is she talking in this stupid way… This is what stress and anxiety do to you. You can’t put your thoughts together… I’ve experienced this before and it’s not fun…
Their communication sucks! And it’s worse because it’s not really either one’s faults. She’s so abused and neglected that she can’t even form a proper sentence since she’s so terrified of being assaulted. Not to mention she’s so insecure about everything since she’s never received an ounce of love or attention.
And the ML can only do so much if she doesn’t talk to him. Should he see clear signs of abuse? No. Why? Because they are different people from different cultures. To him, he may think that her being quiet and meek is a characteristic of her people considering they see his people as barbarians and that’s clearly not true.
His sister-in-law is sketchy but..she is his sister-in-law so maybe his affection for her stems from their history and his love for his brother. But damn, girl seems to want to bed hop from brother to brother (I don’t care about tradition..it’s icky).

They have different cultures and ways of life altogetjer. Of course the ML will not realize right away that the FL was abused.
everyone keeps bashing the FL for being timid and reluctant to be honest with ML but… barely anyone is criticizing how stupid the ML is. he really can’t put 2 and 2 together to realize she was abused or at the very least treated unfairly??? he doesn’t even question her about anything; nothing they talk about even leads to a real discussion. and he’s supposed to be a king??? when he can’t even understand how it looks when he leaves her in the middle of the night?? then asks her how she’s been??? like do you not know what goes around being said in your own palace???? she literally begged him multiple times to not hit her and he’s like “lol what”
