@Heypakas hey so spoiler is basically like this. This manhwa/novel is from fl’s pov so it might be annoying. Ml does indeed loves fl. Ml is supposed to be pope/cardinal and pope/cardinal can’t marry. Fl is ready to be a secret mistress since they have secret mistress but ml don’t want it. The pope/cardinal will save the world from war but how? By sacrificing the person they love. So the person ml love will be sacrificed. Ml lies to world saying he loves different girl(probably the girl that fl tied up). Hence that girl is about to get sacrificed but fl switches with her and she gets sacrificed. Sacrifice wearing a viel(face covering clothes I think) so no one knows of swapping. While being sacrificed(probably being burned alive), her viel came off and ml sees her face. Ml tries to stop it since it’s “fl” and not the woman he claimed he loved. But fl says he loves her and no longer wants to see him lying about not loving her then gets sacrificed. People worried that the sacrifice might not work because wrong person got sacrificed. The woman ml said he loved, sees ml with fl’s hair or something that is of fl’s(not sure) and realizes ml does indeed loves fl. She tells everyone that he did loves her(not sure since I have also only seen spoiler). She does gives ml some of fl’s hair that she had. Ml goes crazy after fl’s sacrifice. He is tired, full of regret and gone mad and doesn’t come out of his room. He is sad and not wanting to live that they was born in the world where their loved ones gets sacrifice(people would sacrifice others). Then time skip(not sure how he died but saw someone saying it wasn’t suicide), ml gets reincarnated into different world. Sees fl but she has black hair and instantly calls her. He hopes she too would have memory like him. Fl doesn’t recognize him and thinks him being rude since she doesn’t remember him and know him. Ml thinks it’s karma of his past life that she doesn’t remember him as he never admitted he loved her. And takes it as his duty in this life to confess and goes around openly confessing his love for her like fl did in past life and fl just finding in annoying. So in new life the role switched and it was ml who was confessing and claiming his love while fl being annoyed and thinking of ml as rude since they are kind of strangers with only ml remembering her from past life.
