1. You cannot conclude that the killer is a 6ft tall strong man without seeing the body firsthand(or an autopsy report which i doubt exists in that time period). The ligature marks on victims could’ve been created postmortem or after the victim was knocked out (possibly by poisoning since there’s no mention of other wounds) and then strangled. Even a woman or child can do that.
2. For possible motives you can try searching if all of the victims ever worked at a place where a violent crime occured in the past. Or they could be chosen at random for a specific feature(like hair colour for example)
But if I was her and already know that ML is a gonna be the prime suspect, I’d search for who stands to gain most from framing him(i.e. his relatives- brother/sister/cousin/uncle/aunt/step-siblings/step-parents if any…) alongside digging more into his probable motives.
