@justchillin: considering how easily he’s swayed by her empty compliments and how his sister can’t even talk back to a bunch of dumb bullies, I think they really are lacking in emotional support and maturity.
Btw was ML’s dad’s brain made of mud? Isn’t Cortina a kingdom that’s constantly rebelling against them? Of all the places, he went all the way there to cheat?? ML saying his mom was healthy till then is also makes his stepmom highly suspicious. Plus with how the idiot dad croaked a few years after marrying in that woman, and the 1st victim being the duchy’s ex-tutor, and how ML ended up being the main suspect in the novel, she’s most likely our serial killer.
