FL is dumb………. not so smart as per her description of prev life, I expected more………. there are many plot holes…………. and idk ML is so gullible FLs acting seemed lame to me, she lacked emotions…….. it wasn’t convincing at all but he believes she love him? wow………… like really? 2 days ago this girl was crushing on another guy, but now she fell in love with you? don’t you think her love for him is fickle or another good looking dude pop up then what? I though he’d be good at reading ppl but no……… it didn’t even took her long to convince him………. I’d say it was too good to be true………. there are times when FL acts smart but I’m tired of misunderstanding after misunderstanding on her part……. and as per spoiler only near end will she know he ain’t killer which is far away………. so this whole time she will keep this stupidity on n on……….. like there are many clues hinting he ain’t the killer but she only want to pick other stuff, I get her suspicion still as per her og job she ain’t smart.

I currently read chapter 16 & I must say that I love the dynamics between each character -especially the one between the Duke & the princess, they are just so beautiful! I believe that the story will get even better once the “misunderstanding” about the culprit is cleared up & ML comes clean about his feelings for FL. I would definitely recommend this one.

The FL saves a slave from auction, and treats him like a guest. She ends her engagement with the prince, who is secretly bad tempered. Seems like another typical story.

charlotte is clearly not supposed to be holmes however. she is too different from him in my opinion. her childishness and trouble-stirring habit of constantly jumping to new conclusions as she uncovers more evidence on the serial killer are the only things reminiscent of his character.

i began reading the novel after the first chapter of the manhwa came out and i love the main characters’ relationship dynamic. princess charlotte is a dramatic compliment-giver and duke adler is an obsessive compliment-seeker. he tries desperately to be special and loved by charlotte. don’t take his outward behaviour too seriously. he’s such a soft and refreshing lead. he is not a yandere. i often question charlotte’s past, because she does not play the ex-prosecutor turned princess character very well, most of her actions are rather impulsive, childish and unprofessional… but i suppose this is because the author didn’t truly mean for her to be a highly-educated and cunning protagonist. they’re just a huge fan of the sherlock holmes series. there are far too many references ( john watson, baker street, detective lestrade, genius gambling, etc) to it in this story.
