Well this is her first time being a mother, she might not have been a good mother or using the right method for raising her son.
But her intention is to make sure her son to have what it takes to survive in the palace, where death threats can came from everywhere and anyone.
When she re-live her life, ofc she’s going to be well probably better bcs now she knows what her son truly needs. And thats understandable.
