So this whole time she was just making assumptions based on how the servants were treating her. Poor Cardin too. He thought his daughter was doing just fine and his mind could be at ease while he fought on the battlefield but it turns out none of his servants except for the nanny were trustworthy.

Good question. What the heck is up with adults in these fantasy worlds who always default to child abuse/neglect. Like, you would think the Duke would choose better, more loyal servants for himself. Or at least a steward/head butler that’s a close aide?

Maybe her nanny was calling her Princess to be respectful bit Emeliet thought it was because her dad never gave her a name. She was treated well before those two years but since she was little she had forgotten. Pretty normal for people to forget the first few years of their lives.
