I love Claude but Cardin never did neglect his child.. he’s not harsh on her… it’s just that he don’t know how to treat a child ..and he went to war… lastly,Cardin didn’t execute this cute little lady….Oh and if I quote correctly,.Claude once said,.that there’s never a day that he treated Athy as his daughter…that means , she’s never once became his child…I love you Claude… that’s all in the past now … ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah like I said in the last chapter, Claude literally blamed Athanasia for his wife’s death and did black magic on himself so he would forget she even existed. That’s why he said he never saw her as a daughter. Cardin probably would’ve become an estranged father without all of Emeliet’s efforts, but he never tried to intentionally forget her.

I don’t disagree with you entirely but I am hoping this is gonna unravel into a ‘I was raised like 90% by a nanny until I was old enough to be trained as heir” blockheadedness where he never realized that even if that was -true- it prolly also included a great deal of actual planning from his parents behind the scenes to see that the household behaved in a functioning way as aristocratic families had a tendency to be seperate from their children until it was very clear they were gonna survive childhood.
