Read manga I’m the Bride Who Carried the Village’s Misfortune
In the Kingdom of Talistan, there exists a child with a cursed role called the “Sacrificial Child of Misfortune,” destined to bear all the village’s misfortune. Mia, born with this fate and an innate tendency for misfortune, has been isolated on the outskirts of the village and persecuted by its inhabitants since childhood. Her misfortune-prone nature even caused her to lose her mother. Despite living a lonely life, Mia grew strong and resilient. One day, during a so-called “hunt” by the villagers, she meets the kingdom’s First Prince, Raybel, who has become destructive after being repeatedly betrayed by his lover. While injured, Raybel cries out for “a one-of-a-kind love.” Mia coldly brushes him off, fearing her misfortune will harm him too. However, the next day, Raybel proposes to her…!? A royal romance unfolds between Mia, the ultimate tough heroine accustomed to misfortune, and Raybel, an overbearing and obsessive hero who showers her with overwhelming love.

I’m torn about this one. The female lead is admirable for sure. I also love her deadpan face. But the things she has gone through and still has to endure by some evildoers after she has basically been saved … are a bit too much actually.
Sure, she dodges abuse rather well and deals with things emotionless, but I can’t in good consciousness call this a comedy. I wonder if all the pain she has supressed will make her cry for a week after she’s finally save and free? But will she ever be really free? I wonder…
Side-stories tell us a bit more about her village where horrible people are doing horrible things even after she left, but at least even there some victims can execute revenge on their abusers.
I am only checking this out from time to time in order to see if the good-hearted male lead and other decent nobles will stop these horrible scapegoat-traditions of all the villages in their country. Because that’s what I’m hoping for.
