Huh, interesting. If I’m not mistaken, the book he gives the customer doesn’t seem to be the same depending on who’s viewpoint you’re in. He sees an ordinary book, such as “The Confessions”, but to the customer it’s the book “Blood and Beast”, which involves lycanthropy, and now he gives Old Wilde “Wenzhounese”, but he sees “Devil’s Language.” So to Lin, these are ordinary books that he can read and enjoy, but when he lends them out to customers, they’re tomes of forbidden Eldritch knowledge. In the grand scheme of things, Lin is probably doing an insane amount of harm, but since he always speaks vaguely to let his customers fill in the blanks, not only does he actually have no clue what their troubles are, but also doesn’t comprehend what damage he’s causing in lending out these books.
