Hm.. considering what was said about elaen’s birth mother and and the circumstances of her birth.. it seems very much possible her stunted growth may be due to malnourishment while growing up.. tho I do wonder about that medicine..
In most stories, it’s usually the father/father-in-law lavishing MCs with gifts and all things luxurious, so it is kinda refreshing to see a mother-in-law’s perspective. Also, there is something inconsistent with Elaen’s (?) personality
“Stunted growth” uh-huh sure Jan, suppose I buy that… There’s still the fact that she acts like a twelve year old! “When I grow up, I want to be big and strong like mother!” Is a phrase you see toddlers use in these stories. Not teenagers old enough to marry!
Thought the maid would take the strange medicine to the MIL or at least tell her about it. At least they should find out during her check up they’ve scheduled
