so… the duke adelvian had STRICT requirements for his party wherein male noblemen HAD to have fiancées/wives because he was so in love with his wife that he didn’t want other men to look at/hit on her. he also wanted their relationships to be legitimate and not faked just so they could attend the party. and yet, when he learns his son is in love with someone else’s fiancée… he just gives a marriage proposal to her?? 😭😭 despite him accepting/deeming their relationship as legitimate previously????? what the fuck? awful character writing or just bad storytelling imo. or the writer just did not think things through. this just makes the entire plot point of “omg we need to work so hard to look like a real couple bc jellard NEEDS to attend this super important party of a duke who is super passionate and important” look stupid

Honestly if she still thinks of her and Jellard’s relationship as contractual there’s nothing wrong with falling in love with the other guy and accepting is proposal. Kind of crazy Jellard may be an illegitimate son but he’s still the dukes child so that offer was rude. High society is going to be talking about Vei for a while her evil sister is definitely fuming.
